Interested in becoming a member of the Country Quilters of McHenry?
The Raffle Block committee offers members lots of opportunities to experiment with different techniques, fabrics, and styles. Each month the committee selects a block to present to the guild. Instructions/patterns are provided for guild members to complete for the next meeting. Blocks are collected and raffled off to one lucky winner (1 entry per block) - sometimes there are enough entries for an entire quilt top! Winners can’t win again until something is made with the blocks they have won. If you are interested in signing up, please contact the Raffle Block committee chair.

2025 Raffle Block
INSTRUCTIONS
This year we will have a theme of three colors and our blocks will come from the book "Quilt Block Genius" by Sue Voegtlin (expanded second edition) - see below for links to purchase. Our goal is to provide 3 months at a time and only raffle the current month at the meeting. As before it is suggested that you make 2 of each, one for the monthly raffle and one so you an have a lovely start to a quilt for yourself or to share.
Our colors for the year are:
White - plain, tone on tone, or "low volume"
Black - plain, tone on tone, or "low volume"
YOUR signature color - this an be plan, tone on tone or "low volume"
Every block all year should be these 3 colors. We are trying to calculate how much would be needed for this, so you might want to choose something current so more could be purchased in case we miscalculate!
We will choose which color goes where - please follow this guideline for the blocks so the raffle winners have some continuity. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Helga (committee chair).
